FAQs About RBT Jobs at On Target ABA

No, you don’t need any RBT certification to apply to On Target ABA. In fact, we’ll help you get certified. Many of our RBTs come in without certification and complete the training process with us. Plus, you’ll get paid during your training! If you’re already certified, even better.

Yes, the terms ‘RBT’ and ‘ABA therapist’ usually refer to the same role. “Registered Behavior Technician” is the formal certification title, while “ABA therapist” is the more general term you’ll hear families use.

RBTs run the therapy sessions, while BCBAs design the treatment plans and supervise the clinical work. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) provides direct, one-on-one ABA therapy with kids under the supervision of a BCBA, completing specialized training and competency assessments to do so. A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) holds a master’s degree and completes extensive supervised clinical training, then designs, oversees, and adjusts each child’s individualized treatment plan. Many of our RBTs go on to become BCBAs themselves.

At On Target ABA, our work culture is supportive and relaxed, with a focus on the work. Our RBTs work closely with their BCBAs and each other, and our admin team is set up to make your day easier. We’re a growing company that’s small enough that people know each other.
